Fancy a break? Well you couldn't do any better than to call in at one of the many cafes, restaurants or eateries that will be listed here over the coming months. Japan travel always offers some pleasant surprises for healthier living and fun. And along with the pit stop I will highlight some enjoyable routes in the vicinity and local attractions you can visit.

Description

Alongside the Hatsuka River sits the Wanosato BBQ Grill, perfectly located next to a popular motorcycling/cycling route. You can enjoy the simplicity of your own personal BBQ grill. From the menu, order what you’d like from the very helpful staff who will prepare and light your grill and while you wait, you can enjoy a cold drink and take in the views. Once your grills up to temperature, your food is served at your table and then just take your time to cook it, just how you like.

There is a variety of dishes on the menu and if you just prefer a quick snack and beverage, you’ll find those too. Above the terraced area and up some steps you’ll find a large grassed area suitable for larger groups. A small car park sits opposite and motorcycle and bicycle parking is available alongside the main buildings.

Wanosato is 60km west of Kyoto, approx. 1hr 15min by motorcycle. This is valley country, so if you turn up any side road you will find yourself on an incline heading up into the hills or you could stay in the valleys and follow some of the picturesque rivers that meander their way towards the many reservoirs that occupy this area.

To the northwest stands Sasayama Castle, a 30min ride away and to the north/north east of the castle, makes a good place for an overnight stop, if you wish to explore the area further.
